JOLIET — Heralded as one of the community’s most successful charity events of 2010, Witches’ Night Out once again prepares for an evening of good-spirited fun by seeking sponsors and vendors for the 2011 fundraiser benefiting women in the community.

Scheduled for 4:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Joliet Junior College’s Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St., and the adjacent Joliet Area Historical Museum, this year’s event promises to exceed last year’s attendance when hundreds of community women in their best “witch wear” participated in an evening of shopping, music, food, drink and fun.

“Not only did we see hundreds of women attend the inaugural Witches’ Night Out last year, we raised nearly $14,000 that benefited four local United Way organizations serving women and children,” said Kathy Mihelich, chair of the 2011 committee and 2010 co-chair.

As with last year’s festivities, general admission to the event costs $10, and includes access to the Witches Bazaar of 50 vendors, the museum and its gift shop, music by the Harvest Moon band on the Rooftop, and the Best-Dressed Contest.

Mihelich credits much of last year’s success to the hundreds of women who “showed up in their best witch wear” for the event, as well as administrative support from the United Way of Will County, the participation of the committee and the support of local business.

General admission tickets are available online, at ticket locations and at the door during the evening of the event . Ticket locations in Joliet include the JJC Renaissance Center, Joliet Area Historical Museum, Spanish Community Center, Stepping Stones, United Way of Will County and participating Curves Locations. A special $50 ticket package is also available via the committee and United Way websites.
