United Way names campaign chairwoman

JOLIET -- The United Way of Will County announced Beth Hughes, executive vice president and COO at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, as the 2010-11 campaign chairwoman for their annual giving campaign.
Hughes, who is responsible for all operational components at the medical center, will oversee all United Way of Will County campaign efforts including providing division leadership, development of a strategic campaign plan and goal setting.
"I am very excited that Beth will be serving as our campaign chair this year. Her leadership and previous campaign experience in our major employers division will be an asset to this year's campaign success," said Michael Hennessy, CEO, United Way of Will County.
Hughes has served in her role at PSJMC since 2007. Prior to coming to Joliet, Hughes served as executive vice president, Ambulatory Services and Managed Care, for Optima Healthcare in Manchester, NH. Hughes has a master of hospital and health administration from Xavier University in Ohio and a bachelor of arts in music from Northwestern University.
Among her activities, she sits on the board of directors for the Will Grundy Medical Clinic.
Hughes says she is committed to ensuring the campaign is a success. She also has served on the United Way's Major Employers Division in past campaigns.
"This year I am privileged to serve as the chairperson," said Hughes. "I will serve as the United Way messenger and voice in our community during this campaign."
